Hi everyone a bit of a different topic I am about to discuss but is driving me mad.A few months ago I went to the docs because I was having discomfort in the bowel region and I have suffered with piles for years from having my child.I had some bleeding and l went to the docs.He gave me a thorough examination with nurse attending and said that my bowel was fine couldn't feel anything untowards but there was signs of past piles ie tags on the outside of my hoohaa. My question is to anyone that has had this problem is that the other day I had a very uncomfortable pair of pants on and couldn't wait to take them of (Cutting Into the Buttocks ouch) I went to the loo shortly afterwards and i had a bleed not for long but my question is can these tags still bleed if irritated even though it's no longer a pile?Confused love to hear from anyone that has a similar problem.x mags

Ouch! Sounds painful!Scared
Sorry to hear of your problem Mags.
I think it is possible for these tags to bleed, but really it's best checked with your GP.
Hopefully someone who has experienced this will be able to give you more advice.

hi

richard sometimes covers the bowel clinic (nursing in outpatients)and says yes they can and do bleed if caught

if you want them removed for medical reasons (infection etc) then they will do it on the NHS.
most people dont get this and end up paying privately to have them removed for "cosmetic" reasons.
